Hi, Iām Nicky
Food has always been my passion. Having qualified as a Cordon Bleu cook over 30 years ago, I created The Conscientious Cook in 2014, developing food that nourishes our mind, body and soul. My love of food and interest in nutrition then led me to completing a Diploma and qualifying as a Culinary Medicine Practitioner.
Having worked in numerous kitchens over the years, then moving into health & beauty (PR), I returned to the kitchen and created The Conscientious Cook. The knowledge I gained from these different experiences has led me to believe that nutrition should not be a one-size-fits-all approach but should be adapted to our unique biologies, lifestyles, preferences, and life stages.
Drawing from my own health experiences, having managed migraines for most of my life, going through menopause in my early 40s, watching my father severely affected by Rheumatoid Arthritis, and my mother being diagnosed with Alzheimer's led me to further exploring the links between food and health and then undertaking a diploma in Culinary Medicine.
This has helped me to understand the science behind the food we eat and how what we put in our body can have a profound impact on our life, from boosting our immune system, increasing our mental clarity, lubricating our joints and bones, balancing our hormones, rebalancing our metabolism and so much more.
Eating the right foods can be confusing, but I am here to help you navigate through the science of food by creating personalised plans that cater to your specific needs. Food is like medicine, and with the right ingredients, our minds and bodies can thrive. A diet rich in nutrients can help you reconnect with your body and lead a happier, fuller life.
True life abundance comes from natural nourishment. There is nothing I enjoy more than sharing the important lessons I have learnt and my culinary creations with others.
