Smoothie bowls are easy to prepare, yummy to eat and you can throw in all the essential macronutrients making them a great way to start your day.

You can use seasonal fresh fruit or frozen out of season both of which hold lots of nutritional goodness. I have included fresh turmeric and ginger in this smoothie for their anti inflammatory properties. Both kings of the food realm their active ingredients curcuminoid (turmeric) and gingerol (ginger) interrupt certain aspects of the chemical reaction that occurs when inflammation is triggered.

They both support a healthy gut which helps break down foods making essential minerals and vitamins more bioavailable and discouraging the growth of bad bacteria that can lead to autoimmune diseases.
